Imagine being left out at Christmas time! In December, Central Alberta Women's Outreach puts together 70-100 baskets to provide to single women who live in poverty but do not fit other Christmas programs. They need help to collect items to put in the baskets. Normally they gather baskets, bows, hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, bubble bath, bath salts, a book or piece of jewelry, body spray, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, fingernail clippers, towel, facecloth, some candy, chocolate, coffee mug, comb, brush, or anything that you think would give a female a personal, emotional boost. A lot of these items are samples or clearance items. These items can be gathered between now and December.
Central Alberta Women's Outreach also needs volunteers early in December to arrange some of these items in a basket. As it gets closer to the end of November and beginning of December, they arrange a day to meet, socialize, and put the baskets together. At the end of the day, they marvel at all the beautiful baskets.
